FABRIC/COLORS: Lightweight sharkskin with a subtle plaid and changeable iridescence. The warp fabric is primarily black with interspersed blue threads, the weft is mostly a coppery brown with interspersed blue. The overall effect is gleaming bronze with the muted blue plaid undertones. Lining is light chartreuse and feels like silk.

TAG: “Mr Cool, tailored by Clipper Craft”. Also a store tag that says “Clipper Craft Clothes, Tailored for Empire Store for Men, Salem-Lynn, Gloucester”. Has the ACWA Union Made label that was used from 1949 to 1968 – this one has the small® symbol which would indicate 1962 or later.

CLOSURES: Two dark brown plastic buttons, keyhole buttonholes.

CONDITION: There is a subtle water stain type mark on the jacket front just below the left pocket opening – it’s about 3" in diameter, and I can only see it when I angle the fabric a certain way in good light – see closeup photo of the top edge which is the easiest to discern – I had to jack the contrast up to make it visible, it’s above and to the left of the penny. I suspect it will come out with dry cleaning, but can’t be sure. Also, a small section of lining needs re-hemming near the bottom front on the right.
